Greetings,
a cut and paste. Link follows, enjoy.
“For his performance, Chia also went around the Substation Theatre screaming very much like Zack de la Rocha.
This and a number of the presentations have underscored for me at least, our reliance on the visual, the theatrical to grasp a sound performance (as opposed to an installation), which in a way is something sound artists in Singapore may need to contend with.”
I honestly feel this reviewer missed quite a bit of the intentions of my performance, and when he mentions how watching a video of my performances would be more understandable for readers than the actual being at the performance epitomizes for me the climate of perception now in 2010, where the hyper-real of ones and zeros behind a screen holds more meaning than the actual immersion in reality itself.
